ACCURACY
- The heart of the SILVA ALTA is a new, highly-sensitive pressure sensor
developed in Switzerland which is capable of measuring altitude variation
down to an accuracy of 1 meter (3 feet).
FUNCTIONALITY - Feature-packed and intuitive. The SILVA ALTAs primary functions are found in three easy-access windows. The first window is a full-featured wristwatch that shows time of day, date and day of the week along with a 24-hour alarm. The second window displays cumulative altitude, number of downhill runs and rate of ascent or descent. The third window displays current altitude along with a 34-lap chronograph accurate to o.1 second. USABILITY - Programming the SILVA ALTA couldn’t be simpler. The patented online Help Window, accessible from the "?" key, guides you through every step using the Words and Arrows (pat.pend) menu interface. We’ll give you a manual, but you probably won’t need it. DESIGN - From its large easy-to-view LCD to its oversized buttons, everything about the SILVA ALTA is designed to make it fully functional for skiers, climbers, multisport-competitors and mountain-bikers. Programming
Window - Automatically prompts you through the entire operation of the
unit. Using the exclusive Words and Arrows menu interface, the Programming
Window describes the current function and points to the key that needs to
be pressed next. It is as easy as 1,2! Waypoint Automatic Calibration System (WACS) Your SILVA ALTA will store two absolute altitude settings for two separate locations (your home and perhaps your vacation home) in memory. This allows you to instantly recalibrate your SILVA ALTA to compensate for normal changes in barometric pressure. Set Window - The setting functions such as time, alarm, unit for altitude etc appear in a hidden window which is easily accessed at any time by pressing and holding the MENU-key more that 2 seconds. Help Key - Simply pressing the Help Key allows you to quickly access secondary functions for any window, such as Annual Cumulative Altitude, Daily Maximum Altitude and the 34-Lap Chronograph memory.
