Hand carved and turned in selected ebony and boxwood as a detailed replica of Jaques original 1899 Club Competition set, which during the previous 50 years had been developed to a level of aesthetic and practical perfection. Each piece, gold blocked ‘Jaques’ on it’s leather base, fits in it’s own individual compartment in a beautiful custom built hand tooled leather casket with a unique Jaques Staunton plate and replica of the original Staunton label signed by the Directors John and Christopher Jaques. It come complete with a beautiful handmade inlaid wooden chess board, specially made for this set.
